Gayoung Park, a master's graduate from PCSL, has been admitted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) for a doctoral program. Her research interests include the optimized design of the Dual-Active-Bridge (DAB) converter and its control.

Korea's First MMC-based Medium-Voltage drive system has been successfully developed by PCSL in Seoul National university, ECSL in Kyungpook National University, and HD KSOE. This project has been carried out over three years as a university-industry collaboration project. Dongjoon Kim, Jaeyeon Park, Seungjun Lee, and Seongmin Moon from PCSL have actively participated in this project. The EtherCAT-based MMC control system and MMC control algorithm for motor drives were designed at PCSL, Seoul National University.

An EtherCAT-based control system and a prototype of modular multilevel converter (MMC) have been designed and implemented by Dongjoon Kim and Jaeyeon Park. By integrating the control system with the MMC prototype, an MMC-based motor drive inverter has been realized. It has been tested with a 200 kW induciton machine under full-load conditions. This project has been suppported by HD KSOE.

Dr.-Ing Shenghui Cui has started Power Conversion Systems Laboratory (PCSL) at Seoul National University. At PCSL, innovative researche on modular multilevel converter, grid-connected converter, and power semiconductor is conducted.
